You can consider the data as a collection of names for points of interest along the railway, which the operator uses to construct a smooth timetable. For more info on the subject, you could consult http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenRailwayMap/Tagging#Operating_Sites, where the tagging of these nodes is described. I already tested two locations: • http://puu.sh/hExsV/47862d83d4.jpg shows an example of a cargo yard near Rotterdam. • http://puu.sh/hExu2/8f324e6bc0.jpg is a junction near Amersfoort.
