Hi,
how long does it take that changes in the OSM data will be visible on the openrailwaymap.org web page?
Thanks,
Eckhard (EM311)

The update timestamp in the upper left corner of the website provides the time when diff updates were fetched the last time. Afterwards it takes about one hour for processing until these changes are available in the main database. Tile updates take longer (up to about two days) but I plan to change the tile update in order to prioritise those tiles which are visited more often (currently all tiles with changes get treated equally).
Updates are currently applied 7 times per day.
You can check the freshness of map tiles at the debugging page at https://tiles.openrailwaymap.org/#osm.org/10/50.124841/8.673023&overlays... by right-clicking on a tile and selecting the "tile status" option.
Best regards
Michael
Thanks, Michael, for the quick answer. I was surprised that a change that I did a few days ago was updated within 12 hours while other updates did need much more time. No problem, I will be patient.
Best regards Eckhard

shameless plug: if you want to see effects of your edits quickly (though not in tile form), you can use the openrailwaymap style overlay on my https://print.get-map.org/ MapOSMatic instance to render the area you are interested in.
As I do minutely imports on that machine, and as no caching happens on that service as it always renders on demand only, changes become visible within minutes. Filing a render request, and waiting for it actually being processed, will also take a minute or two each, but seeing the effect of edits within five to ten minutes after the fact should usually be doable.
I'm using the service to review my own changes on a regular basis, too (although for other stuff than railway features ...)
