Hi,
it's only alpha but I present it now to you – I have set up a WMS with ProRail's milestones.
That's the GetCapabilities URL: http://michreichert.de/spoorbaanhartpunten?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabi...
You have to click in JOSM on Imagery -> Imagery Preferences -> +WMS and enter to URL above. Choose image/png as image type.
There are some bugs I have to fix: - change colour of labels (Which one would you prefer?) - cut of all those decimals (reason: the shapefile stored them as doubles) - choose nicer icon instead of the black circles with blue fill @Jereon: How do they look in the Netherlands? Could you provide an image (link)?
The data source is http://data.openov.nl/prorail/20140116/20140116-spoorbaanhartpunt.zip. License: http://data.openov.nl/prorail/readme
Other issues: - Although the dataset reaches a little bit into Germany, it is not usable there. ProRail did not transform the German milestones which have DB_Ref (a Gauß-Krüger projection with Bessel ellipsoid and ETRS89 datum). That's why the have an offset mainly in east-west direction.
Please attend that this is no permission to import the milestones. The import still has to be discussed at imports list!
Best regards
Michael

The icons no look like Dutch milestone signs.

Fixed.

Thanks for setting up the WMS. I just tried it out and did some edits in Stavoren, where I - at least - have a little local knowledge: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/31600120
I hope the license/source comment is sufficient in this form.
I discovered that it would be gread if the JOSM template for milestones would have an auto increment/decrement function like the house number template alreday have. Would this be very difficult to implement?
Greetings
Chris

Please wait and do not enter more milestones (unless you have surveyed them in field by GPS or video or photo) until the import has been approved by the imports list.

I have had a look at the auto-increment function which can be enabled for a JOSM template but it is not possible with current JOSM because only integer increments/decrements are possible. (https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/TaggingPresets#Attributes)
